Lyric video - Brave New Light by Dorey the Wise
This project was for my final major project at university. I wanted to show what I had leant therefore I decided to make a lyric video. I love joining typography and illustration then making them move to create a extra element. I used the song 'Brave New Light' as it was by a local band in Hastings which I have seen many a time performing in pubs.
Project Development
These images are to show the development stage of the project. After experimenting with collage I decided that I would rather draw the imagery and type as it was easier and shows my illustration skills. I decided to draw the type as it fits in better with the animation aesthetic and the style of the illustrations match.
I made a ep single album cover for the digital space and also for a single record. I wanted to keep their orginal logo as it worked well with my design and I wanted to keep the same colour scheme as my animation so it all tied in.
This is some of my development work for the sleeve and album cover. I wanted to keep the theme of light and draw various light bulbs so it corresponded to my animation.
This is the final album cover. I decided to change the text from hand drawn to digital as it looks bolder and cleaner. It also meant I could edit the whole image. I bought the text down to make it more square and added more lines to the light to emphasise the circle around the word light.
This is the single record sleeve cover that I designed. I wanted to keep the same theme as everything else so I used my light bulb pattern on the from and kept the song title on the back.
